Rewards from our guided fishing charters

How many people do you take fishing?


We cater for up to 3 anglers on each charter. We undertake whole boat (private) charters.

How long do we fish for?


  • On our Escape Day Trips we are on the water by 7am and off the water between 3 and 4pm.
  • For our Extended Safaris we are on the water by 6am and off the water at 5pm.

Where do we meet?


For all our trips we offer complimentary transfers from your accommodation. We will even drop you back again at the end of the day.

What time will you pick us up?


  • For Escape Day Trips this will depend on where you are staying and where we will be fishing. Generally pick-ups start around 5am. We aim to have you dropped back at your place between 5-6pm. Exact times will be discussed when you make your booking.
  • On Extended Safaris these logistics will be discussed while we tailor make your dream adventure holiday.

What do I need to bring on the Day?


  • A good hat.
  • Sun sensible clothing.
  • A good pair of sunglasses.
  • Sunscreen should you wish. 
  • A towel.
  • If it’s wet season a raincoat.

Do you supply catering on the day?


Yes, on our Extended Safaris all meals are supplied. Cold water and cold soft drinks are also provided all day; you can bring any alcohol you wish to consume.

On our Escape Day Trips, we supply ample fresh water and cold soft drinks. Boat snacks are the clients responsibility.

Do you supply tackle or do I need to bring my own?


  • We supply all lures, rods and reels. Everything is 1st class quality and in top condition. (supplied on a you break it ; you lose it; you pay for it basis)
  • You are more than welcome to bring your own rods, reels and lures should you wish.

If I was to choose to bring my own tackle, what should I bring?


Below is a general overview of the type of tackle you would require; if you plan on bringing your own gear, we will discuss this in more detail when you make your booking.

  • Rods – For casting heavy tackle we recommend something like a PE-8, 7’11” popping rod. For light tackle casting we recommend something like a PE-4, 7’ rod.
  • Reels – We suggest good quality reels with plenty of drag.
  • Line – Heavy Gear should be no less than PE-8. Light Gear PE-4 will do the trick.
  • Lures – For casting heavy tackle we recommend poppers and stickbaits weighing 120 – 160 grams. For light tackle casting, poppers and stick baits from 30 – 80 grams will suffice.

Can I keep my catch?


We are primarily a catch and release outfit, however we understand people will want to take something home, other than photos. If it’s good table fare and of legal size and within bag limits… Yes.

How do I pay?


We prefer all charter deposits and balances be paid by direct deposit prior to commencement of your charter.

Escape Day Trips Terms and Conditions:


 

A $AUD 200.00/ day non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. The balance remaining is to be paid 1 week prior to charter commencing.

All charters are subject to weather conditions and we reserve the right to cancel any trip due to bad weather. CSSS require that all clients take out travel insurance for their trips. In the event that a trip is cancelled or rescheduled due to unforeseen weather related circumstances, we cannot accept responsibility for any loss of trip costs, airfares, lost holiday time or any other financial consequences as a result of their booking. CSSS make every effort to conduct all trips on time and to the proposed itinerary, however CSSS are unable to take you fishing in the event that a tropical cyclone warning or a strong wind warning is issued by the Bureau of Meteorology for all or part of your trip, or in the event of any other natural disaster that prevents us from running your trip, or if wind speeds exceed the safe operating limits specified for our operation by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority.

Financial consequences of any fishing time that is missed and any travel connections or accommodation bookings that need to be changed as a result of these unforeseen weather events, is to be claimed on travel insurance. Cancellations are exceptionally rare, but CSSS believe travel insurance is a wise investment.

 It is a condition of booking that you agree to take out some type of travel insurance to cover any unforeseen weather events. Before taking any travel insurance from any company, please read the full product disclosure statement and be satisfied that the policy provides you with appropriate cover for deep sea fishing in Australian domestic waters, as well as sufficient cancellation coverage for the trip and your travel expenses.

 If the client decides to cancel the charter the following cancellation policy applies.

 >30 Days notice 100% refund excluding deposit.

 < 30 Days 0% refund.

 All clients will be issued tackle tabs at the commencement of each charter. Lures, fishing rods and reels are supplied on a basis of; if you break it or lose it, you replace it and the cost will be added to your tackle tab. All tackle tab balances must be paid by the completion of charter i.e. at the boat ramp, unless prior arrangements have been made with management.

 Alcoholic beverages are allowed on-board the vessel; responsible consumption of alcohol is expected.

 The client permits any authorised representative of “CSSS” to administer first aid treatment and/or arrange transfers to a hospital / medical facility if such actions are required as determined by the skipper of the vessel.

“CSSS” is to be released of any liability in relation to any injuries or other incidents that may occur on-board any of our vessels. “CSSS” makes every effort to ensure the safety of all on-board through our safety procedures and trained staff.

Boating and Fishing Regulations- Fishing will be conducted within the Fishing Limits and Boating Regulations determined by the laws of Queensland.

 Actual reef destinations are at the Skipper’s discretion.

 GST & EMC are included in the charter price.

 Terms and conditions are subject to change without notice.

Extended Safari Terms & Conditions


A $AUD200.00/day non-refundable deposit is required to secure the booking. Balance of fees is to be paid 2 weeks prior to commencement of charter. Should the client choose to cancel the charter then the following terms apply: If less than 8 weeks’ notice is given, a 100% cancellation fee applies.

All charters are subject to weather conditions and we reserve the right to alter or cancel any part of the trip due to bad weather. CSSS require that all clients take out travel insurance for their trips. Travel Insurance


CSSS strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance as soon as you confirm your booking to cover any weather-related cancellation due to unsafe weather conditions. There are many companies that offer suitable policies, but please do ensure that the company you choose covers offshore fishing trips and covers the full cost of your trip in the event of a full weather-related cancellation. Cancellations / delays due to weather are at the discretion of the skipper of Insidious and the owners of CSSS. Guests will be notified as soon as possible regarding any delays or cancellations due to weather. In the event that a trip is cancelled / delayed, usually only due to exceptionally strong winds, the travel insurance you have taken out will need to cover cancellations or reductions in trip length, any rescheduling of flights and accommodation.

CSSS does not offer a trip refund for weather cancellations, or reductions in trip length, but we will do everything possible to ensure that you have everything you need to make a claim on your travel insurance.

  • Certificates are not refundable for cash.
  • Certificates must be presented in person on the day of the charter.
  • Certificate is valid for 12 months from date of issue.
