  • You are more than welcome to bring your own rods, reels and lures should you wish.

If I was to choose to bring my own tackle, what should I bring?

Below is a general overview of the type of tackle you would require; if you plan on bringing your own gear, we will discuss this in more detail when you make your booking.

  • Rods – For casting heavy tackle we recommend something like a PE-8, 7’11” popping rod. For light tackle casting we recommend something like a PE-4, 7’ rod.
  • Reels – We suggest good quality reels with plenty of drag.
  • Line – Heavy Gear should be no less than PE-8. Light Gear PE-4 will do the trick.
  • Lures – For casting heavy tackle we recommend poppers and stickbaits weighing 120 – 160 grams. For light tackle casting, poppers and stick baits from 30 – 80 grams will suffice.

Can I keep my catch?

We are primarily a catch and release outfit, however we understand people will want to take something home, other than photos. If it’s good table fare and of legal size and within bag limits… Yes.
