You're about to venture to PNG to chase Black Bass; You have travelled half-way round the globe and you have a day to spend in Cairns. What should you do?
Spend a warm up day chasing GT's and other critters with us. Well Dave and Byron thought so.
The boys contacted me, asking if I could help them out. They had just travelled halfway round the world and wanted to stretch their legs, and arms before they flew out the next day to chase Black Bass. The forecast was looking good so I told them we would head a little ways south and see what we could do.
We had a great day out on the water and managed to bag a few fish both on light tackle and the heavy gear. We also played around a bit using some of the boys lures they planned to offer up to the bass. The boys soon found out that GTs are brutal on your terminal tackle.
